Just saw the sentence in the title written in Sharpie on a relatively innocuous sign advertising a Bible study group. And I thought that I was a douchebag. At least I don't go around leaving insulting comments on anything that mentions something even mildly religious.

I think that it would be fine if those with imaginary friends would not a)try to impose their imaginary friends' agenda on ALL of us and b)be making up imaginary crap about the 'other guy' to disingenuously make 'their guy' seem better.

Yes! Exactly! The imaginary nature of their friend is of little relevance when the real issue is how pushy they are in defending him, pushing him on other people, and forcing other people to give up their own imaginary friends! In my view, the supposed childishness is only relevant when that childishness is also abrasive. And...strangely enough...the statement in question qualifies!
I was amazed at the sites I found on the wikipedia concerning 'voices in the head', intrusive thoughts and such.
I would have no problem with someone giving their 'friends' names there right up until they were trying to tell me that I ought to be heeding that invisible 'friend's's advice!
Then there's another kind of leech altogether, God's little lawyers!
If a man stands up at a podium and is expecting his audience(flock) to PAY him to be chastised, that man is a crook!
He is a crook just like any other lawyer who would take your money only on the good chance that he his palm is going to be 'greased'.

Yeah...conning the group-schizophrenics by telling them what their imaginary friends REALLY want, and asking for a *cough*slight service charge*cough* is pretty low. It's also a career that I would love to have, if I, you know, was devious/gullible enough for it.
And, yes, teh kittehs can have imaginary friends. [Interestingly though...I couldn't. I even faked having one. Strange...]
