Correlation = Obama is destroying America.

The stock market is falling.  Why you may ask?  In response to Obama's policies, clearly.

What?  That didn't convince you that the economic shortfalls we have been experiencing for about a year (or, at least most noticeably, around September) aren't part of a larger trend and are, in fact, entirely due to a reaction to upcoming Democratic policies on the docket?  Well, maybe this genius will convince you otherwise.  On November 6th, he did prophetically declare that:
The Obama recession is in full swing, ladies and gentlemen.  Stocks are dying, which is a precursor of things to come.  This is an Obama recession.  Might turn into a depression.  He hasn't done anything yet but his ideas are killing the economy.  His ideas are killing Wall Street.  They need some certainty, and now everybody in the Drive-By, "We don't know who Obama is."
The Obama recession:  he is such a terrible president that he tanked the economy a full eleven months before even getting into office.  The very idea of him running as a candidate has destroyed us all.   On an unrelated note:  I wish that I could kill with my ideas.  I am not sure if Rush would enjoy it as much though....

Wow, does that have anything to do with the new XKCD?

Heh. I love the scroll-over comment that they have for that strip : "Correlation doesn't imply causation, but it does waggle its eyebrows and gesture furtively while mouthing 'look over there'." A nice description, though I am not sure if that's the case for this particular issue...

The Republican agenda seems to be to make everyone furious. Seems that they don't care if you're furious at them or with them, just so long as you're furious.

Oh, yea, and I predicted that if the Dems got in, suddenly the Republicans would be 'all about the economy'.

The old tricks are the best ones.

WoW!! You are totally right about that!!

No more 'What's gonna happen at 3 am' BS.

Probably because "fury" seems to be a party trademark. If you don't have the rage, then you should look into becoming an independent.

In addition to being all about the economy, they are now all about "small government" again. Good for them to actually be conservative again, but it is said that they only want government to have small influence when they aren't the ones running it.

Most of this crap permeates the ether from Fox news or the talk radio hosts. I know it doesn't mean much but I have begun to send out letters to advertisers for Rush and Hannity, and Co. notifying them that I will no longer be buying from them due to their support of what I consider to be damaging attacks without purpose. I support their first Amendment rights to say what they want, but that Amendment does not require me to financially support them while doing so. And that goes for any of Murdock's other ventures including the studio. The only thing they care about is power and the money that buys it. So let them raise it from the dild, sorry I mean dittoheads...

Although I admit to listening to Rush Limbaugh from time to time, it just to hear what the enemy is saying. I certainly never choose to support any of his sponsors, let alone his own line of goods or his political tracts/newspapers.
The problem with this is that advertisers decide on purchases of airtime based on listener numbers and demographics. Positive or negative results from such advertising decisions are much harder to track or quantify. Letters written as you suggest are, unfortunately, not likely to have much impact.

Harvey, it just makes me feel better ;)

You have got to be kidding me... Most of those news clips were taken from none other than FOX News (go figure) These conservatives obviously have no idea how things work...

I rather enjoy the notion that Old Rush Limbaugh thinks that simple ideas have the power to destroy...

Worth a shot, though I pretty much agree with Harvey. Not sure if it will amount to much, but, I mean, the same thing could be said about any form of protest. It's pretty much useless on its own, but if you get enough people doing the same thing, you might just get the results you are after (or at least make the advertisers in question seriously reconsider the value of associating themselves with what are, in actuality, relatively extreme viewpoints).

"I rather enjoy the notion that Old Rush Limbaugh thinks that simple ideas have the power to destroy..."

I know. Irony, or hidden desire?

Asylum,

What do you think about the Jim Cramer v. Jon Stewart thing?

Asylum Seeker said...

I thought that Jon introduced it well by making light of the fact that it was fairly overhyped. But, the entire thing, from Cramer beginning the interview with a voice that seemed like he was choking back tears (I wasn't the only one who thought that was what he sounded like, right?) to Jon conjuring up strategic videos by number...it was just awkward, and clearly to Jon's advantage. It was kind of sad. It's just more entertaining to make light of someone's mistakes when they aren't there to cringe and squirm at every word. Though, perhaps if Cramer was more malicious (and if I understood half of what they were talking about) I would have found it more satisfying.
