Dinesh D'Souza: Going out with a whine

So, Dinesh's current iteration of his blog is going the way of the dodo. So, of course, he needs to make sure to leave a fond fairwell to the commenters he ignores:
I have enjoyed doing this blog and I want to thank my readers--yes, even the Dineshophobic atheists--for checking in and posting comments. (Sometimes I wonder if some of you atheists who post several times a day have regular jobs.)
"Dineshophobic"? I'm not sure that "-phobic" is the right suffix to describe people who suffer from an addiction to shredding your posts to pieces everytime you open your jaw and let the inane crap spew forth. Though it is nice that you could manage to suggest that atheists are afraid of you, while also suggesting that they are specifically persecuting you, while still remaining as smug as ever. A hat-trick.

Oh, and people who use the internet can't possibly have jobs. Right? The two are like, mutually exclusive...

It's been fun, Dinesh. But somehow, I don't think that the human stain that is yourself will be removed from the intertoobs anytime soon. And, for that, the rest of mankind weeps.

I have no idea where I got it, but
I love it too. It is both hilarious and creepy, while still having an appealing appearance. I wish I remembered where I nabbed it from...

I'll miss him...in much the same way as one misses a three year-old toothe-ache.

I must admit, I had some fun playing on his blog...I even met some interesting folks.

I do wonder, how good can his arguements be if a fool such as myself can rip them to shreds with no effort at all ??

Part of the reason why I might actually miss him is exactly because he is just so very wrong, all the time, and everyone who doesn't eat up simple-minded apologetics and GOP talking points can see it. As PZ Myers put it: "I try to stay away from Dinesh D'Souza's ravings, but when you've got SIWOTI syndrome, the man is like a magnet of wrong."
I think that most of the refugees from his blog would probably agree.

But, he said that he is going to post at the conservative base townhall.com, where he puts up the same damn posts he made at his AOL blog. So...if we desperately wanted to inflict brain damage on ourselves...

Uggghh...townhall.com...it is like comment hell. The interface, the people commenting, the sheer volume of comments themselves (lot in the ballpark of 800). I thought that the AOL blogs were bad...

Yeah, I checked out townhall.com...it sucks conservative ass.

I always used to think of myself as a conservative...now I find they are a bunch of poopy heads.

I guess I mised the change over?

When did conservativism start meaning bigger, more intrusive government?

I'm not exactly in line with the liberal viewpoint either. What's a dumb ole country buy to do?

Tough call. Honestly, the only reason why I consider myself liberal is because conservativism in America has been a mess since before I ever even knew what politics were. They have long since abandoned any pretense of wanting a small government. They pretend that they are still "fiscally conservative", when they aren't. And the core of their politics is now "social conservatism" (i.e. forcing people to behave how those pining for nonexistent days of yore want you to behave). Needless to say that I am too tolerant of that particular nonsense.

Conservatism is not an inherent an evil, and has many laudable aspects. Unfortunately, none of them have been on display for the longest time now. It has been mindless patriotism, religious groupthink, and an overbearing desire to intervene in other people's sex lives. It...it just isn't pretty.
